I used to be a strong advocate of Akismet as another additional level of 'spam' blocking. Although after implementing it I had several of my top commenter's disappear to email me that they were pissed I was 'blocking' their comments and filtering them out. Needless to say I removed that plugin ASAP. For those of you that are having trouble losing some of your best commenters that could be the reason why. Haha, I have way too many plugins and modifications and the K2 theme doesn't help much either.
