Realtime Worlds and Microsoft Game Studios weren't joking when they said they had a lot of extra content coming up for Crackdown. Yesterday, they released a Title Update along with two new additions to the Marketplace, the Free-For-All Pack (free) and the Gettin' Busy Bonus Pack (800 Microsoft Points) which both add expansion-like content to the game.
The Title Update adds these features and fixes to the game:
- You can now reset gangs/bosses.
- Orbs Audio is now louder as you progress.
- Perform a Ground Strike with 4 star strength rating.
- Firing/targeting has been improved.
- Fire hydrants easier to smash.
- Stunt Rings are now easier to spot.
- Explosions can be seen from afar even if the day is dull.
- Ramp truck issues fixed.
- Camera enhancements.
- Player to player precision shots.
Free-For-All Pack which can be downloaded for free from the Xbox Live Marketplace contains:
- Cheats that can be enabled in the Keys to the City mode.
- Vehicle impounding in the Agency Garage.
- Co-operative trophies.
- 2 new achievements.
Lastly, the Gettin' Busy Bonus Pack, costing a whopping 800 Microsoft Points also available from the Xbox Live Marketplace contains:
- 3 new Agency vehicles.
- 5 new weapons.
- 5 new game types.
With all of this, 7 new achievements are now available:
- Confiscator (Free-For-All Pack): 40 Gamerscore
- Psych Out (Free-For-All Pack): 100 Gamerscore
- Stockpile Supreme (Gettin' Busy Bonus Pack Trial): 10 Gamerscore
- Flippin' Crazy (Gettin' Busy Bonus Pack Trial): 20 Gamerscore
- Body Armor (Gettin' Busy Bonus Pack Trial): 10 Gamerscore
- Street Racer (Gettin' Busy Bonus Pack): 20 Gamerscore
- Street Racer Elite (Gettin' Busy Bonus Pack): 150 Gamerscore
The Gettin' Busy Bonus Pack can be trialled, all you have to do is join a co-operative game with someone who has the Gettin' Busy Bonus Pack you can then try before you buy all of the new features to this pack and receive 3 of the 7 achievements. The other 2 Gettin' Busy Bonus Pack achievements can only be unlocked if your console has the bonus pack.
Personally I think that 800 Microsoft Points, costing about £6.80 – which can only be bought in bulk of 1000 for £8.50 – is a little steep considering you have to buy the £30 game in the first place. There seem to be a few bugs in the Free-For-All Pack as well, which makes me wonder about the Gettin' Busy Bonus Pack.
It is a nice set of updates, but I think that they should make the bonus pack free, or just make a whole new game out of it.
